Mental Health Parity Hearing in St. Paul

In 2008, Congress passed the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act. This law requires health insurance to provide equal access for both mental health or substance use disorders and physical health. All aspects of mental health coverage, including co-payments, deductibles, visit limits, network and out-of-network services are ensured equally. SAVE has been asked to secure 2 - 3 individuals to testify about their experience with the new law. If you acquired coverage from a self-insured employer or because of the parity law, was able to get the help needed, please send a short description of your experience to Dan Reidenberg at dreidenberg@save.org.
