Save. Suicide Awareness Voices of Education

Support SAVE

SAVE is a nonprofit organization that relies on public support to accomplish its mission of increasing public awareness of suicide, and providing education and resources. Because of this SAVE cannot operate without the generous support of individual, corporate, foundation, and event assistance. There are many ways you can help SAVE accomplish its mission including donating, fundraising, and volunteering. We thank you for your desire to work with us to help save lives.

The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence is awarded to the members of Independent Charities of America and Local Independent Charities of America that have, upon rigorous independent review, been able to certify, document, and demonstrate on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness. These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal.

How your support helps.

Every dollar counts. Every contribution helps save a life.

Your contributions help increase public awareness.

SAVE's radio, television, print, indoor and outdoor advertising educates the public about the symptoms of depression and the need to seek treatment. This campaign is designed to increase public awareness of the issues surrounding suicide prevention and the link between brain illnesses and suicide to reduce the stigma surrounding depression and suicide.

Your contributions help provide community education.

Save invests resources toward educating the general public, and youth particularly, about the link between depression and suicide. SAVE's school-based suicide prevention program for school staff, students, and parents is a powerful tool to teach people about depression symptoms and the warning signs of suicide so that help can be given to those who are depressed and/or suicidal before it is too late.

Your contributions help grieving families in need.

SAVE gives grieving families a resource to contact for more information about suicide and grief support. SAVE events and programs also give grieving families the opportunity to work with other survivors and friends to help SAVE with its mission of preventing suicide.
