Keep your home suicide-safe: Request free cable gun locks

In 2025, SAVE has seen an incredible demand for our free cable gun lock program. We are actively seeking additional sources of cable gun locks and have paused new requests until we can fulfill them. Please sign up for our newsletter to receive an update when we begin accepting new requests.

Veterans can call their VA healthcare provider and request gun locks or firearm lock boxes.  These are available in all our clinics in the medical center and CBOCs.  If you want to include a link, I’d include the link to the State of MN Dept of Veterans affairs that will also send gunlocks to veterans.
