Skip the Flowers, Skip the Chocolates. Pass KOSA This Year
U.S. Senators Marsha Blackburn, and Richard Blumenthal to Join Survivor Parents and Allies for Mother’s Day Rally Urging the Senate to Pass KOSA This Year
(Washington, DC) May 7, 2026 – On Tuesday, May 12, Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) will join survivor parents and online safety advocacy organizations for a Mother’s Day-themed rally on Capitol Hill, urging the Senate to pass the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) this year.
Coming off the Mother’s Day weekend, Senators will join survivor parents to urge Senate lawmakers to pass KOSA this year as a gift to bereaved mothers who have lost their children to online harms. These parents have advocated tirelessly over the past few years, calling for Congress to pass this piece of legislation in honor of the children they have lost. The rally will serve as the cornerstone event of a week of action driven by parent survivors and online safety advocates to tell policymakers once and for all, it is time to stop delaying and to start saving children’s lives. Now is the time to pass KOSA.
KOSA currently has strong bipartisan support with 76 cosponsors in the Senate. The Senate bill offers strong protections for children, and it has transcended party politics, underscoring the significance and power of this issue.
